3D Model Creation
PetraSim supports completely interactive 3D model creation. The user can import existing 3D layer data and use it to define the model geometry.
Users can assign material properties to the layers and define wells through the model.
New features/bug fixes in the 2022.3.1003 release include additional support for TOUGH3 along with other new features. Unlike the TOUGH2 simulator that is still packaged with PetraSim, TOUGH3 is not included and must be purchased through Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.
Applications include subsurface geologic carbon sequestration sites and natural gas reservoirs. The components modeled include water, brine, non-condensible gas (CO2 or N2), gas tracer, methane, and heat.
