Faster LU decomposition: For the first time, we have introduced some thread-level parallelism. For now, this only affects the LU phase, typically reducing LU times by 20%. The effect is most noticeable for models like GTAP and TERM where the LU phase accounts for half or more of total runtime. We plan to introduce more thread-level parallelism, reducing non-LU times, in later releases.

Availability
Release 12.1 will be supplied to all new GEMPACK purchasers. Current subscribers to the annual payment scheme for the source-code version of GEMPACK are advised to download a free upgrade -- they should email sales@ (specifying their licence number) for further details.

ViewHAR now displays SL4 solution files in a more user-friendly way. Unlike in ViewSOL, you can see values for variables with 4 or more dimensions. The Contents page contains a "<-100" column which counts how many values changed sign, and there is a way to track down which elements of huge variables changed sign. See Opening SL4 solution files [Dec 2009]

The models used are as follows: GTAP4040 is the standard GTAP model with a 40 commodity 40 region database, GTAP7FULL is the standard GTAP model with a 57 commodity 113 region database, MMRF5 is a  commodity 8 region bottom-up model of Australia, TERM is a 47 commodity 31 region model of China and USAGE11 is a 392 commodity single region recursive dynamic model of the USA.
